New members are warmly welcomed and invited in the first instance to come along for a free first taster session, and then you can join, if you feel we’re right for you, by contacting us via email at mungrisdalewriters@gmail.com or by simply handing the completed application form to the Secretary at one of our meetings.
There is an annual subscription of £35 (with an invitation to make a voluntary annual donation of £15 towards the discretionary fund that supports those who would find the fees difficult) and a charge, currently £12, for each meeting.
Sessions take place in Mungrisdale Village Hall, from 10.30-1.30 including a coffee-break, in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual support.
A tutor provides a variety of exercises and themes for writing – poetry, fiction, flash fiction, memoir and story – which participants may read out to the group for helpful and constructive comment. The tutor will also set work to be done between meetings, which is read and explored at the beginning of each following session.
Members sometimes prolong the morning with lunch at The Mill Inn at Mungrisdale.
